Less than a two hour drive from NYC, nestled in the scenic Catskill Mountains is Scribner’s Lodge. This Scandinavian-inspired lodge has become a hallowed retreat for East Coast urbanites. Located in the quaint ski town of Hunter, NY, there are plenty of outdoor activities to keep guests busy. Hike down to Kaaterskill Falls, a majestic two-stage waterfall nearby, and swing by sparkling Colgate Lake for a dip. In the colder months hit the slopes at Hunter Mountain across the street. But with amenities like a swimming pool, yoga studio, bonfire and its own restaurant, The Prospect, we wouldn’t blame you if you never left the grounds. Once you cozy up by the fire with a good book in the pine-filled lobby you’ll be hard-pressed to think of any other place you’d rather be.
