Interstellar instantly became one of my all-time favorite movies when I first experienced its stunning visuals and poignant journey through space and time in theaters back in 2014. Not to give anything away if you’ve yet to watch the Matthew McConaughey-led modern sci-fi classic, but there’s a very specific watch that plays a pivotal role in the storyline particularly in the final few scenes of the film; that watch, it so happens, is the Hamilton Khaki Field Murph Auto. When Hamilton released the watch to the public a couple years ago, I was immediately drawn to it—no only for its place in modern film history but for its classic, wearable appeal. At 42mm it’s on the bigger side for what I normally wear, but thoughtfully designed curved lugs allow the Murph to wear a bit smaller than its size and the H-10 automatic movement boasts an 80-hour power reserve, making it a great option for day to day wear throughout the week—not that it isn’t dapper enough to complement a double breasted suit when the occasion calls. “Eureka” indeed.
