A natural step in the evolution of a suiting collection is the incorporation of patterns. When branching out from the solid navy and charcoal staples you’re most comfortable in, windowpane tends to be one of the first places to start.

Admittedly I’ve gravitated mostly toward solids in the past, but lately I’ve begun to appreciate the implementation of tasteful patterns into my wardrobe. Generally, the louder the color of the suit, the simpler the pattern should be, which is why this intricate, multi-tone windowpane works so well in a muted blue colorway. In this case, it’s best to keep the accessories simple; a grenadine tie and tonal pocket square balance and complement the eye-catching pattern. Let me know your favorite suiting pattern in the comments below.
