There’s nothing like putting on a custom made suit. Emboldening and elegant, a well-fitting suit can make you feel unstoppable. Off-the-rack options often fail to live up to expectations in quality and (especially) fit—with tailoring costs quickly adding up. But Alton Lane offers a custom suiting experience that is not only downright enjoyable, but delivers exceptional results.
While Alton Lane’s service is fully functional online, I would recommend stopping by one of their showrooms (with locations in most major East Coast cities and as far west as Dallas) for the most personal experience. Grab a whiskey at the in-house bar after work and start poring over your suiting options with the showroom staff. That’s when the fun begins. You’ll be able to choose from a plethora of fabric samples and design options. I went with a brown sharkskin fabric that adheres to my fall color palette while remaining versatile enough to wear year-round. The classic notch lapel is complemented by subtle additions like pick stitching and a ticket pocket. Once you’ve got your design nailed down, it’s time to get measured. The staff will hand measure you before showing you to the 3D body scanner to make sure you get the perfect fit. The measuring only takes about 10-15 minutes and then you’re done. In 4-6 weeks a new bespoke beauty will be at your doorstep—and if it still needs any additional tailoring Alton Lane will take care of that, too.
I’m very happy with the way my suit turned out. From the fabric to the tailoring it’s a look I’ll be wearing for years to come. I also customized the shirt with a classic white herringbone pattern and point collar—complete with a chest monogram for good measure. It’s easily the best fitting dress shirt I’ve ever worn. Check out images of the look below and stop by the Tribeca showroom for a truly unique and intimate suiting experience.
