About 45 minutes south of Carmel-By-The-Sea along the PCH awaits one of the most incredible stretches of coastline in the country. Highlighted by the ever-popular town of Big Sur, within just a few miles you’ll witness an eclectic and magnificent combination landscapes—from cliffside beaches reminiscent of some Hawaiian islands to rock formations you’d find in the Amalfi Coast; rolling green hills like the Scottish Highlands to dense forests of Pacific Northwest timber. The area is ideal for a camping trip, but if a day trip is all you can manage, make sure to stop by McWay Falls, a stunning seaside waterfall you have to see to believe.
